Come on North of Boston. We can do it.

More and more regions are realizing the economic and cultural benefits of hosting a Public Market. Here we see Green bay prioritizing it.

"Obviously we want the Public Market open," he said. "That's were our effort is really focused."

The NFL draft, which is coming to Green Bay in April 2025, has been the "rallying cry" for many projects in the Broadway District.

There are many ways to bring a safer shopping experience outdoors. Indoor/outdoor public markets which offer flexibility and a safer shopping experience are the way of the future. This is why so many folks enjoy the open air shopping experience of Lynnfield Marketplace and Wrentham Village Outlets. This is why Simon Properties is making a rapid shift in this "lifestyle center" and "open air" direction. Ironically, our local mall was open air when I was a kid. Funny how we come full cycle.

A proper Public Market-North of Boston is long overdue. An accessible place where the beginner entrepreneur can get their legs wet while being supported in their growth, but at the same time, established businesses can enjoy an alternative environment. A place that encourages diversity in the arts, entertainment, craftsmanship, and sales while always fostering community.

We continue to ask the question: which municipality will take on this great rewarding venture? We know of a few that are poised to do it, but what will be the tipping point? How many of their brick & mortar businesses will they lose before realizing they waited too long?

Communities would be smart to make many more of their open spaces amenable to outdoor dining and entertainment.

The local restaurant scene is hurting, but things are somewhat better as you get farther from Boston

The City of Lynn is on the move! If there is a City north of Boston so poised to develop a Public Market, it is Lynn at their Waterfront. Anyone who has reviewed the approved Waterfront Plan can see that Mayor McGee's involvement with the Mayor's Institute on City Design and the US Conference of Mayors has given him tremendous insight.

While there has been no announcement that this Waterfront transformation is being called a Public Market yet, the public elements of the plan look very similar to that of Pike Place Market & Waterfront.

We look forward to seeing all these plans develop into reality, which as you can see, are moving forward daily.

LYNN — Zoning changes officials said are aimed at encouraging development on the city’s 305-acre waterfront were approved by the Planning Board and City Council Tuesday night. The boards both voted unanimously to amend the zoning bylaws in seven districts that comprise the city’s waterfront, b...
