Most folks know me through KR Home Team and my work in real estate. But you may not know that I also have a nonprofit called Rooted Youth.
We are focused on helping young people in Fayette County access the mental health resources they need. Our vision is a community where every young person feels safe, supported, and connected, and where families know they do not have to face a mental health crisis alone.
The other week, I had the opportunity to share more about Rooted Youth at 1 Million Cups Atlanta South in Peachtree City.
I also shared parts of my own story, and being that open was not easy. But the response reminded me why these conversations matter.
If we want to break the stigma around mental illness and take the youth mental health crisis seriously, we must be willing to talk honestly about it.
I’m so grateful to everyone who came, listened, asked questions, and shared such thoughtful feedback. Your support meant more than I can say.
I also want to thank Rooted Youth’s Chairperson and my dear friend, Jessica Nicole, for encouraging me every step of the way.
Real estate is a big part of what I do, but caring for the people and families in this community is at the heart of all of it.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to share this part of my life and want to leave this place a little better off for having lived in it.
