Porching is gaining a following. And as the summer heats up, who doesn't want to hang out on a cozy, stylish front porch or veranda while reading, sipping wine, or saying "hello" to neighbors as they pass by? Some houses were just made for porching too.

Now is a great time to sell especially if you live in the Atlanta Metro.

Selling is sounding more appealing. The percentage of Americans who reported now is a good time to sell zoomed to a record high in May, according to Fannie Mae’s latest Home Purchase Sentiment Index, based on a survey of about 1,000 Americans on their views about the housing market.

Hi Friends! It’s that time of year again… Property Tax Notice of Assessments are now out in many counties. Some counties have seen an increase in assessments of up to 50%!!! 😱😱😱

YOU CAN APPEAL YOUR ASSESSMENT

Here are the details and what you need to know before you appeal:
- The county assigns a property a Fair Market Value (FMV) for taxation purposes
- This assessment includes an estimate of taxes for 2017 based on the FMV
- No taxes are due at this time, 2017 tax bills will be sent out later this year
- Assessments can be appealed with the county
- The assessor mails the notice to the owner of record as of Jan. 1, 2017
- A 2017 buyer will not receive the notice in their name as it was mailed to the seller
- ALL APPEALS MUST BE FILED WITHIN 45 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF THE TAX NOTICE
