The Area Agency on Aging was honored to welcome Attorney Richard Courtney, who shared valuable information on the differences between wills, trusts, and quick claim deeds, along with other important planning considerations. The discussion reinforced our theme, "Timing is Everything," and highlighted the importance of planning today for peace of mind tomorrow. One of the most meaningful parts of the meeting was the opportunity for caregivers to ask questions, share concerns, and engage in open discussion. These conversations help caregivers gain knowledge, confidence, and resources to better navigate their caregiving journey. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion. Your participation makes our support group a valuable resource for caregivers throughout our community. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of caregivers and older adults.

Last week, the Central Mississippi Area Agency on Aging hosted the FY 2027 Aging Public Hearing in Yazoo City at the B.S. Ricks Memorial Library, where we engaged in meaningful discussions regarding the growing needs of seniors throughout Central Mississippi.

We appreciate everyone who attended and shared valuable insight, concerns, and recommendations related to services and support for our older adult population. Discussions were held on healthcare access, transportation, caregiver support, nutrition services, and other critical resources that impact the quality of life for seniors in our communities.

The feedback received will help guide future planning and priorities as we continue working to strengthen aging services across the region. Thank you to our community partners, advocates, caregivers, and residents for contributing to this important conversation and for your continued commitment to supporting older adults.

What a beautiful and memorable time we shared at our Caregiver Support Group gathering, “Unforgettable Bouquet Memories!” A heartfelt thank you to our amazing facilitators, Sharon Dallis and Bridget Robinson, for leading such a meaningful and uplifting session. Your compassion and encouragement created a space filled with support, connection, and hope. We also extend our appreciation to every caregiver, family member, and supporter who joined us, shared their stories, and poured into one another. A special thank you to the representatives from Bristol Hospice for joining us and sharing valuable information, resources, and support for caregivers and families in our community. Together, we continue building a community rooted in compassion, encouragement, support, and hope.
