Today I spoke with a client in Liberty County, and our conversation really stayed with me.

We discussed property taxes and protesting valuations, and they shared that they’ve never protested because they don’t own a computer and don’t understand the digital process.
After trying to get help in person once and leaving frustrated, they’ve simply gave up and paid whatever they were told each year.

It was a reminder that many people especially elderly homeowners on fixed incomes still struggle to navigate systems that have become almost entirely online.

Sometimes people don’t need more technology, they just need someone willing to take the time to help.

I’m sure there are many others, not just in Liberty County, who feel the same way.

My reasons for not buying a new car are as long as a CVS receipt:

• No payment is the best payment
• I’d rather buy real estate
• I have teen daughters… enough said 🚗🐴 (iykyk)
• I don’t trust all that new technology (I still like manual locks)
• Dings and scratches?
Already built in…..adds character
• I like a car I can feel…
not one that beeps at me for blinking
•Between a car note + insurance I can pay a mortgage

If you’re going to spend money, why not put it somewhere that can actually grow?
Real estate isn’t flashy, but it’s consistent and a whole lot easier to sleep at night with than stocks and crypto rollercoasters.

Buying?
Waiting?
Convinced the market’s up or down? There’s a reel for it.

And once you engage…
your algorithm feeds you more of the same.

More validation.
More reinforcement.
More voices saying, “You’re right.”

That’s where it gets dangerous because what you consume starts shaping your mindset and your decisions.

“They will turn their ears away from the truth…” 2 Timothy 4:3-4

Be careful what you allow in.

Because while the world (and your feed) gives you what you want to hear…

The Word gives you truth.

“The truth will set you free.” John 8:32

The Pearland Police Department is seeing a rise in cryptocurrency scams targeting people through social media, texts, and apps like WhatsApp & Telegram. These scams look legit—but are designed to take your money.

⚠️ Red Flags
• “Guaranteed” high returns with little risk
• Random messages about investment opportunities
• Pressure to act fast or “not miss out”
• Requests for crypto, wire transfers, or app payments
• Platforms showing profits—but blocking withdrawals
• Fees or taxes required to access your money

🛡 Protect Yourself
• Verify companies through Financial Industry Regulatory Authority & U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
• Research independently (search “reviews” or “scam”)
• Avoid sending crypto to unknown people
• Try a small withdrawal early
• Talk to a trusted financial professional

❗ If You’re a Victim
• Stop communication immediately
• Do NOT send more money
• Report to local police or FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center
