Once you are through the holidays, the hustle and bustle of celebrations, and you sit down to get your house ready to sell, these areas will help you prepare your home to put it on the market and make it stand out above the rest!
*Save this post so you can come back to it after the holidays.
1. Take a look from the street. The winter time can make landscaping kind of blah, but think about things you could do to brighten up the face of your house. Does it need a good cleaning? Maybe a fresh coat of paint on the door and shutters? Clean out the flower beds and add some color to them!
2. Next we take a stroll to the kitchen. If you can lighten the space, it's going to be more inviting. Make sure those cabinets get a good scrub, and make small updates to things like hardware to keep it from being dated.
3. It's time to declutter. I know you love having all the things your family has given you over the years, but you're not selling these people your things. You're selling your space. They need to be able to see it to enjoy it and make an offer. By cleaning out the clutter, your buyers will be able to get a better feel for their things having a place in their new home.
4. Now that you've cleared out some space, it's time to rearrange. Buyers coming in the door do not have the ability to see things that aren't there. Set up your spaces so that it enhances their ability to perceive what they can use each room for!
5. If you have an extra bedroom, consider setting it up like an office instead. So many people are working from home, or homeschooling their kids, and to be able to imagine a working space is going to be super important to potential buyers!
Which one of these will you start with?
