Maintaining good credit is a struggle for many people. It can impact many big decisions that you have to make throughout your life. Here are 5 tips on improving your credit:

1. Focus on your payment history - make sure all bills are paid on time in full

2. Review your credit often and do not ignore errors - if you discover mistakes make sure to report them with the credit bureaus.

3. Pay down your credit card balances each month in full - revolving debt and late payments can have a negative impact on your score.

4. Consider opening new accounts - if you are disciplined with your finances and are able to control your spending and make payments in full, opening new lines of credit will help increase your score.

5. Ask a loved one for help - ask if a friend or loved one can add you as an authorized user to an existing, positive account. This can help raise your score as long as the person who is helping you is responsible with their account.

There are many other ways to improve your credit. I recommend seeking guidance from reputable credit and lending officials.
