FLORIDA REALTORS BACK PROPERTY-TAX AMENDMENT
Florida Realtors has officially endorsed Amendment 3, adding the statewide real-estate association to the campaign for property-tax relief ahead of November’s election.
The organization’s Board of Directors voted to support the constitutional amendment during governance meetings held after its 2026 Convention and Trade Expo.
Florida Realtors said the measure would give voters an opportunity to provide meaningful property-tax relief while strengthening the state’s commitment to attainable homeownership.
The association is now encouraging Floridians to vote yes.
Amendment 3 must receive at least 60% of the statewide vote to become part of the Florida Constitution.
The endorsement is politically significant because Realtors operate directly inside Florida’s affordability crisis. They see what rising ownership costs mean for buyers trying to qualify for a mortgage, homeowners attempting to remain in their houses and families deciding whether Florida remains financially realistic.
That does not mean voters should accept any organization’s endorsement as a substitute for examining the amendment themselves.
The conservative case for property-tax relief is clear: Floridians should not be gradually priced out of homes they already own because assessed values and government collections keep climbing.
The necessary follow-up question is equally clear: Will the amendment impose real spending discipline, or will local governments attempt to replace the lost revenue through higher rates, fees or another source?
That is analysis—not a claim about what any particular government has announced it will do. It is the central accountability question voters should ask before changing the Constitution.
Florida Realtors has now chosen its side. Between now and November, supporters still need to explain how the amendment delivers durable relief without simply moving government’s bill somewhere else.
