Pay attention to the initial loan estimate! One ploy some lenders use is lowballing closing costs to sway your decision making. Pay particular attention to the one box on this sheet that the lender can control. The rest of these fees are simply estimates up front until we get the fees from your title company, homeowner's insurance and property taxes! Look for discount points and origination charges in the top section!
