🏠 2025 Florida Hometown Heroes Loan Program – Key Update

Florida Housing has announced major updates to the 2025 Hometown Heroes (HTH) Loan Program, pending final approval by Governor DeSantis.

📅 Budget & Status
• The Florida Legislature approved $50 million in funding for the 2025–2026 HTH Program on June 16, 2025.
• The program is not final yet and is awaiting the Governor’s approval and final rulemaking.

👔 Who Will Qualify in 2025?
To be eligible, borrowers must be:
• Employed full-time by a Florida-based employer, AND
• Working in one of these specific professions:

1. Healthcare workers
2. School staff members
3. First responders
4. Public safety employees
5. Court employees
6. Childcare workers
7. Active military, reserves, Coast Guard, or National Guard
8. Veterans working full-time for a Florida-based employer

⏳ Timing Alert
• Funds will NOT be available on July 1, 2025.
• If approved, Florida Housing will:
• Release a new lender guide
• Publish a final list of eligible occupations
• Conduct lender trainings on the revised program

• The program is changing significantly from 2024.
• It will be limited to specific occupations and employers.
• Funds are not yet available, but we’ll notify you as soon as they are.
