We have just received notice that the Tall Ship Elissa's final preparations are nearing completion, but a schedule change will move their Pensacola visit to early August. They will be finalizing their plans for Pensacola in the coming weeks, and we will post the new information just as soon as it is available. The tall ship, Elissa, is an 1877 square-rigged iron barque, brought over from Piraeus Harbor, Greece to Galveston, Texas, by the Galveston Historical Foundation. The ship’s restoration work began in 1978 and was completed in 1982, transforming the rare, historic vessel into a buoyant museum and functional sail ship. Elissa is one of only three ships of her kind in the world able to still actively sail and welcome visitors. Around 40,000 people visit the ship annually to dive into the rich history of the Gulf Coast’s beginnings.

This weekend, you can visit Tall Ship Elissa at Palafox Pier and explore the deck for free from noon to 5pm on Saturday and 9am to 5pm on Sunday. ⚓️

The US Coast Guard Cutter Eagle will be visiting Downtown Pensacola this weekend for free public tours!

Take a tour on Saturday from 1 pm - 4 pm and then on Sunday from 10 am - 7 pm!

It will be docked at Plaza de Luna.

Blue Angels practice sessions begin next Tuesday (3/31), but please be aware of the following information regarding NAS Pensacola access.

🚫 The flight line at the National Naval Aviation Museum will NOT be open during Blue Angel practice sessions. This includes Department of Defense (DoD) ID holders.

👉 Visitors who are interested in watching a Blue Angels practice are encouraged to book a boat tour or watch the practice from Fort Pickens at the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Please allow yourself plenty of time to access Fort Pickens and expect delays, as this will be a popular spot to watch.

✈️ The National Naval Aviation Museum remains open 7 days a week for DoD ID holders and those escorted with them. The Blue Angels will continue to hold autograph sessions at the museum on select dates.

ℹ️ Additionally, the National Naval Aviation Museum is open to the general public on Saturdays and Sundays. Before accessing the installation, all visitors must go to the Visitor Control Center located at the main front gate at the south end of Navy Boulevard. All visitors 18 and older must present a valid government-issued ID, such as a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or a U.S. passport.
