Halloween is coming, but if the bats have already started decorating your attic, we need to talk. 🦇🎃

Did you know bats have eviction rights in Illinois?

Apparently, you cannot just change the locks whenever you decide their lease is up.😩😩

Bat colonies can normally be removed:

🦇 March 15 through May 15
🦇 August 5 through October 30

It must also be above 50 degrees at dusk for at least two nights. Bats are picky tenants.

During those times, homeowners CAN INSTALL a one-way exit. The bats can fly out, but they cannot get back in. Once everyone has officially vacated, you can seal the openings.

If you find bats outside of those dates, contact the IDNR or a licensed wildlife removal professional. They will decide whether the bats can stay until removal season or whether they need to be evicted for health or safety reasons.

You can find the full rules at WildlifeIllinois.org by searching “bats.”

Did you know that Morton has offically been the Pumpkin Capital of the World since 1978? The Libby's (Ok...it's Nestle now...but for those of us "old timers" it will always be Libby's) plant 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝟖𝟓% 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝’𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐤𝐢𝐧!

And with the Morton Pumpkin Festival starting this week, there’s no better time for our sweet town to be in the national spotlight.

Come enjoy the food, the fun and everything that makes this week so loved....and watch for The Glover-Smith Group float in Saturday’s parade. 🏡 CLOSED - 110 Aspen Court in Morton! 🎉

This one belonged to my friend’s dad, and helping her sell it meant far more to me than simply putting another sold sign in the yard. Homes hold pieces of people’s lives, and sometimes closing the door is part of closing a chapter. ❤️

We don’t just sell traditional houses. We sell mobile homes, too, because every home matters. It doesn’t have to come with a big price tag to hold a lifetime of memories or have an important story behind it.

I’m grateful my friend trusted me to help her through this one and honored to have been a small part of her family’s story. 🔑
