Tolleson is building a $36.8 million aquatic center that could host Summer Olympic trials.

The Tolleson Aquatic Center opens March 2027 to April 2027 with an Olympic sized pool, the largest lazy river in Arizona, and a 26 foot waterslide. The International Olympic Committee is in talks to use it for trials. Tolleson High School will finally have a home pool after using one in Avondale for eight years. Residents approved a $21 million bond in 2020, the city added $15.8 million, and JBS USA donated $1 million. The old pool closed in 2018 after serving since the 1960s. Four retail spaces are going in next door.
