How to Make Your Home Look Like a Magazine Cover While Still Living in it 🎴✨📔

Walking through a professionally staged home is a sensory experience. The air is fresh, the lighting is flawless, the kitchen counters are completely clear, and every throw pillow looks like it was artfully tossed by a designer. It looks exactly like a luxury home magazine cover.

Then, reality sets in.

If you are preparing to sell your home, you face a unique challenge: you must maintain that pristine, magazine-worthy aesthetic while simultaneously packing lunches, managing pets, helping with homework, and rushing out the door for work. It can feel like trying to live inside an art museum without leaving a single footprint.

Fortunately, you do not have to choose between sanity and a successful sale. By understanding the psychology of staging and implementing a few strategic daily systems, you can keep your home show-ready without completely disrupting your lifestyle.

Six features that buyers are in love with right now 🌳🌻🛝 :

1. Seamless Indoor-Outdoor Flow
Buyers are looking for homes that feel like a continuation of their home on the outside. This can be accomplished through features like sliding glass doors or bifold doors that can open to blend the house with the outside, but also through covered patios and porches. These features make the home feel larger and more expansive.

2. Turnkey Entertaining Spaces
In recent years, buyers have started turning to outdoor spaces that are perfect for hosting. They want spots that are great for grilling and have outdoor amenities for cooking. But they’re also looking for a home that could have a fire pit so they can extend the use of their backyard into the cooler months.

3. Privacy
When it comes to a home, privacy is a must. But that doesn’t just matter inside. Buyers love areas that have dense trees or bushes that give extra privacy in their backyard. But a fence will also do the trick. This makes sure that they can get the secluded retreat that they’re looking for.

4. Low-Maintenance Landscaping
Landscaping always draws a buyer’s eye. But there are so many things you can do in your own backyard to draw attention and make it feel just right. From planting flowers around the yard to having fresh mulch down. Low-maintenance jobs are perfect for creating a cozy environment.

5. Smart Features
Today’s landscape is focused a lot on technology. Adding in some solar-powered lights around the yard can upgrade the vibe, but if you’re looking to take it a step further, putting in app-controlled or voice-controlled lighting can change how your backyard feels. Having the ability to watch shows out back is also a huge focus, whether that’s on a screen or on an outdoor TV.

6. Pet-Friendly Upgrades
Much like privacy, having pet-friendly upgrades is a huge plus, from having a spot to put a doghouse in for when your dog wants to play outside to having a fence so they can run free. Buyers will instantly fall for a home that’s suitable for not just them, but also their furry companion.

Summertime is just around the corner. This time of year brings so much excitement. The kids are on break, and there’s so much you can do. From going to local fairs to going on vacation, there is always something to look forward to. While summer brings a lot of outside fun, it also brings heat and a lot of responsibilities. Howard Hanna Real Estate Services is here to help by giving you a summer home maintenance checklist to make sure you’re able to maximize your time enjoying the season.

Service Your HVAC System and Replace Air Filters
With the heat on the way, it’s time to make sure your HVAC system is ready to go. When the first heatwave hits, you’ll want to have your air conditioning going, but before you turn it on, it’s important to have it inspected and change out any filters that need to be changed.

Clean Gutters and Inspect the Roof for Damage
In the summer, we also tend to see storms. So, it’s time to clean your gutters and inspect your roof for any damage it may have sustained during the winter or spring. Have a professional look at your roof and fix anything that needs to be fixed to avoid any headaches down the line.

Power Wash Patios, Siding, and Walkways
The nice, sunny weather is a great time to bust out the power washer and clean the areas around your home. There may still be remnants of past seasons on all of your walkways, siding, and patios. Give them a nice wash and make your home feel welcoming to the visitors that you’re going to have all summer long.

Refresh Landscaping and Trim Overgrown Greenery
The season comes with a lot of outside chores, but each will make your home look beautiful, from mowing your grass to putting down new mulch and planting flowers. Take the time to cut overgrown greenery and refresh your landscaping to make your home inviting.

Check Sprinkler Systems and Outdoor Lighting
After you refresh your yard, if you have a sprinkler system, it’s time to check it and make sure it’s operating at its best. At the same time, you’ll likely be outside at night a lot, so you’ll want to check your lights and make sure that your pathways will be lit.

You don’t have to be a master gardener or even have a green thumb to pull off a stunning summer planter. Beyond just sprucing up your porch for the season, a well-styled entry is one of the easiest, most impactful ways to elevate your home’s curb appeal. If you are preparing to sell, that first impression at the front door sets the tone for the entire showing, signaling to buyers that the home is beautifully cared for. 🚪🪴

Just getting started with container planting? These easy tips will help even the most novice decorator create an inviting entryway that welcomes guests and buyers alike. Read more: 🌐https://blog.howardhanna.com/sellers/the-10-minute-front-door-upgrade-every-home-seller-needs
