Today we pause to remember one of the most significant days in history.

On June 6, 1944, more than 150,000 Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy in the largest seaborne invasion ever attempted. Their courage, sacrifice, and determination helped change the course of World War II and secure the freedoms we enjoy today.

Many of those young men never returned home. Many others carried the physical and emotional scars of that day for the rest of their lives.

As we honor the heroes of D-Day, we also remember the families who supported them and the generations who have served since.

Freedom was earned through extraordinary sacrifice, and it should never be taken for granted.

We remember. We honor. We are grateful.
