Honestly, this one warms my heart. The seller is the kindest, most considerate soul. Her motivation for her move was purely to get closer to her client base whom she serves with every fiber of her body. She loved the nature-filled setting of this property, but wasn't getting to enjoy it as she should.

Set among the redwoods in Novato's Captain's Landing community, this end-unit offered an opportunity to own in Marin without the maintenance, expense, or commitment of a larger property. It has now found the right buyer, who was equally as attached to the property as the seller was.

I wish everyone happy memories in their new homes.

Another beautiful Sunday at Rancho Nicasio
If you’ve never seen one of their outdoor shows, you were missing out. Grab some barbecue and a lawn chair. Bring a blanket because you just don’t know what the weather will do.
And buckle up!
They are the best!

It’s true.

I’m still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up (don’t get me wrong being a realtor is ridiculously satisfying and also ridiculously exhausting) and at the same time trying to angle my retirement.

I guess I’ll just keep living the good life while trying to figure it out.

This one... was obviously all about the sweet little pup.

And the roses.

My buyers requirement for their move from Sacramento was that the new home have room for her 100+ award winning rose plants. They dug them up at the appropriate time (I, who know nothing about roses, do not know when that was, but they did) and they planned their move around that.

We looked far and wide to find a property that faced the correct way, had the appropriate conditions for not only her roses, but his regenerative garden, with room for fruit trees and more.

My clients ended up taking on a fixer, but they were up for the challenge. New roof, new flooring, new kitchen, new garage door, termite treatment, new windows... all done before the move in (well...kind of, delays around the globe means living out of boxes while the flooring is put in around your piles) but this is THE ONE for the roses.

And, boy, are the neighbors in for a treat. Look out, Santa Rosa Rose growers, there is a new competitor in town, and she is GOOD! 🌹🌷💐

Yes. As is the pup.

Home Depot.
An emotional roller coaster in two parts.

Part one.
I pulled into Home Depot this afternoon, and as I heard the news that , Dolly Parton, I sat in the parking lot and I cried. She was a good one. She represented peace and love and charity and compassion and empathy and equality and all the things it seems we’re missing in this world on a large scale.

Part two
As I finished up my Home Depot shopping, I came into the parking lot and across from me was a very old beaten up pick up truck that wasn’t starting. Click click click. That’s the starter. I called out to the truck owner and said hey are you OK? Sounds like you’ve got bad starter. Hip-hop the truck into neutral and said.” that’s because it’s against the law to give jobs to white men. Did you know that it’s against the law to give blue-collar jobs to white men?” as he started to push the car backwards with his foot, I said. “ that’s not true.” but he didn’t hear me. A guy walking along, came up beside him and said hey do you want some help? In the truck owner said.” no I only take help from white people.” and then he looked at me and he said.” it’s true I’m racist.” I said you’re kidding, right as he’s pushing his broken down, the truck passed me yet refusing help “ no I’m fu***ng serious. I’m fu***ng racist.” he said. To which I replied. Then may you rot in hell and get exactly what you deserve.

Now I’m totally shaking. And I realize there’s a woman standing next to me, parked next to me watching the man push his broken down truck away. She hadn’t heard the conversation, but she was curious about the action. I turned to her and said that man just told me he’s a racist. She said why would he tell you you’re Caucasian? She happened to be black. I said I think that’s why he told me because I’m Caucasian. But I don’t understand why would he be like that?

And she looked at me for a moment, and I can’t decide if she wanted to hug me for my naïve day or she wanted to slap me and say welcome to my world every day.

I got back into my car and started to cry.
