P I N K O W L C O F F E E

I don’t know about you, but I can’t live without my coffee, and I love trying new local coffee shops. Pink Owl is my new absolute favorite place to go to grab my rose latte and matcha butter donut🤍

Saandra and Joe started Pink Owl Coffee in San Rafael one month before the pandemic hit. They got creative and had so much community support that their business flourished enough to open a second location in Petaluma.
Pink Owl was born from the idea that coffee bring people together, and that community is everything. Saandra hopes that Pink Owl can be a place where everyone can relax, study, or socialize, knowing they are safe and welcome.
Being that Saandra is a Breast Cancer survivor, she holds that cause very near and dear to her heart, and a portion of each purchase goes to the very organization that helped fund her treatment.
All of their sourcing comes from farmers they know, one being in Honduras, an all women owned business that is committed to supporting women all the way up the chain, starting with the farmers and ending with the consumer. Every single person involved is, or identifies as, a woman.
So know that when you go to Pink Owl you aren’t just drinking the best coffee in town, you’re also contributing to supporting women all over the world🤍

A Q U S C A F E

Aqus has been a long time favorite of mine to go for a business meeting, to get work done, or to just have coffee ( or a beer!) with a friend. Their food is incredible- all health and environmentally conscious, and they have so many vegetarian and vegan options. It’s truly the only place in Petaluma that has the best coffee, food, and beer/wine that suits any occasion. Not to mention the servers and staff there are the most sweet, hardworking, and genuine people you will meet.

Here’s more about the owner:
Lesley has been a pioneer in the hospitality business and is originally from Manchester, England, and decided to move to the US in 1984 where she met her husband. They bought the Redwood Cafe in Cotati in 1993 and in 2008, swooped in to save the day for Aqus Cafe and made it what it is today.

Lesley says she “thinks of Aqus as a gathering place, a community hub, somewhere people can group together or be alone, yet feel comfortable and safe”.
And I think she is 100% correct! Almost every time I go to Aqus I end up in a beautiful conversation with a stranger and feel so connected and comfortable ♡

Homespun Market is an adorable shop, located in Cotati, and owned by the fierce mama and entrepreneur, Alexis. This is one of my favorite places to grab client gifts!
During the initial Covid lockdown, Alexis made lemons into lemonade and started an online shop with a huge variety of goodies from home-goods to jewelry. Her online shop became so successful that she was able to expand and land a permanent spot! You can tell her shop is an extension of who she is and what she stands for. Most of her items are from locally owned vendors as well as women owned businesses. There is a wide variety of sustainable and environmentally ethical home goods and self care products. She also has a kids section and a section for your pup! If you really take the time to browse, you’ll also find hilarious gifts sprinkled around her shop- she has an awesome sense of humor that I really vibe with!
Alexis is a motivated entrepreneur who says her inspiration comes from her spunky and vibrant 7 year old son, and her loving husband. Homespun Market is a mission-driven business- a portion of each purchase goes towards programs that fight against child abuse.
