Outside the listings, the contracts, and the conversations about buying and selling homes, there’s a whole lot of life happening.

There are crab pots in Tomales Bay.

Sunsets at Yorkville Ranch.
Fishing trips along the California coast.
Exploring historic places like Bodie.
Boats leaving the harbor before sunrise.
And those moments when you realize the best memories usually aren’t planned.

For me, real estate has always been about more than property. It’s about the places we choose to live, the experiences we create there, and having a life worth coming home to.

Some homes catch your eye because they’re beautiful. Others make you stop and wonder about the story behind them.

That’s what I love about architecture and real estate.

From the Folk Victorian details of Fiddletown to the Queen Anne character of Nevada City and Petaluma, the Spanish Colonial Revival style of Palo Alto, and the Mid-Century Modern lines of Boonville, every place has its own architectural language.

These homes aren’t just old buildings. They’re pieces of California history that reflect the people, craftsmanship, and communities that came before us.

And that’s one of the things I enjoy most about being a real estate guide looking beyond the listing, noticing the details, and understanding what makes a neighborhood feel like itself.

Funny thing about house hunting is that everyone shows up looking for square footage and a good kitchen. But the stuff that actually makes someone fall in love with a place? It's rarely the house alone.

It's the street you'll walk your dog on.
It's the neighbor who already waved at you during the showing.
It's picturing your own life happening there, not just moving in, but living.

That's the part of this job I love most. Not just finding you four walls, but helping you find the whole story that comes with them.

One of the things I’ve learned about real estate is that getting to know a place means looking beyond the properties.
It means knowing the streets, the neighborhoods, the history, and the places where people actually spend their time.

The Petaluma River is one of those places.
Spend a little time along the water and you’ll find historic buildings, working waterfronts, wildlife, golden hills, and some pretty incredible light at the end of the day.

These are the details that don’t always show up on a listing sheet but they’re part of what makes Petaluma special.
Just another day, another view, and another reason I enjoy calling this area home.
