Consider having a “Blower Door” air infiltration test performed by Premo Home Inspection Services. By pressurizing or depressurizing your home it can determine where existing air leaks are located. Air leakage is what makes your home inefficient & less comfortable.

In the last days of 2016 my wife and I purchased a home, built in 1887, in Charlevoix, Michigan. As we live in Colorado, and as my wife had only a few hours to inspect the house - I was unable to even see it - the selection of an inspector became extremely significant, if not downright critical. Chris is detailed orientated to the extreme and as a result produces a very detailed report the size of a book, filled with photographs, which is at once easy to read and extremely informative. My wife and I are purchasing our “dream cottage” near Lake Huron, around 200 miles away from our home downstate. We realized we needed a trusted professional in the area who really knows his trade. By phone I interviewed eight inspectors from a list that my realtor provided, spending a few minutes with each while attempting to make the best choice with regards to availability, scope, depth, and first impression. Chris told me that he treats every home inspection as if he is the purchaser and strives to be as thorough as possible. I asked if I could shadow him, and he welcomed me to join him in his task. Together we went over just about everything that could be done in the time allowed, and then some. Covering everything from inoperative duplex outlets to a compromised floor joist issue deep in the crawl space, I felt that I knew more about the house than the previous owner did. Chris also tested the water at the County and checked the septic system which was found to need a new tank. All in all, it was the best money I could ever spend on a major purchasing decision. I wholeheartedly recommend Chris to anyone who desires a hard-working, personable professional to perform a top notch inspection. I spoke with Chris regarding a home inspection on a vacation house we were interested in purchasing in Grand Traverse County 2 weeks ago. We currently live in San Diego and had an eight day window to find a house. At 7pm on Monday April 4th we called Chris and requested an inspection for the very next day as we had to fly out on Wednesday.
Chris, honoring his promise to accommodate our tight schedule, showed up the next day at 1pm! After a thorough 4+ hour home inspection, he made us confident in our purchase. Pointed out the positives and the negatives of the structure using the latest technology and his previous builder experience.
