Covenant House PA

Covenant House PA Serving Pennsylvania youth who have runaway, are experiencing homelessness, and/or trafficking for 25 years.

Covenant House Pennsylvania is much more than a shelter. We provide an array of services for homeless young people, including a first-class medical clinic, full time staff to assist with educational and vocational needs, and around the clock one-on-one support to help our young people plan, stay on track, and achieve their goals. We also provide housing for longer periods to give our kids ample ti

me to find work, learn important skills, and save money - giving them the best possible chance of achieving independence. With the vital work that we do, it's hard to believe that we operate almost entirely on private donations - more than 90% to be exact. Your generosity and support isn't only welcome, but needed. If you would like to make a gift, please reach out to our Development team at [email protected] or call (215) 302-7506.

Join us in celebrating Justin Romain, one of just seven students awarded a scholarship by the South Philadelphia Lions Club, as he continues following his dreams! 🎉

Justin is pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity at the Community College of Philadelphia, driven by a desire to protect others in an increasingly digital world. Despite facing personal challenges and displacement from home, he remains focused on building a future rooted in purpose and opportunity.

During his time at Covenant House PA, Justin was voted Resident of the Month for his kindness, resilience, and determination to succeed. Now, he is incredibly close to achieving another major milestone: finding a place of his own and stepping into a new chapter of stability and independence.

A special thank you to our Young Professionals Associate Board Member, South Philadelphia Lions Club President, and longtime supporter Michael A Giangiordano II for helping make this opportunity possible and investing in Justin’s future.

Huge thanks to the Meiji Stauffers Community Involvement Team for showing up for the youth at our York Sanctuary Program in such a meaningful way.

Led by Sabrina Murphy, the team not only donated backpacks and cookies for our residents, but also rolled up their sleeves to clean, repair, and beautify our courtyard, even donating supplies to help transform the space.

Because of their kindness and care, our youth now have an outdoor space where they can feel welcomed, appreciated, and at home. 💙

Huge thank you to The Honickman Companies and our board member Jeff Cook for inviting our youth and staff to Dover Motor Speedway on Friday for an unforgettable NASCAR race experience. 🏁

This was a true bucket list experience for our youth (none of whom had ever been to such an event before) and will absolutely be one of the highlights of the summer.

We’re so grateful for partners who create moments of joy, connection, and lifelong memories for our young people.

A heartfelt thank you to Lebanon Valley College and everyone who helped organize the Move Along 5k / 1 mile walk in support of Covenant House Pennsylvania. Nearly $2,500 was raised to help young people experiencing homelessness move toward safety, stability, and hope.🩵

We especially love seeing young people in the same age group as the youth we serve show up to support their peers in such meaningful ways. The intentionality behind this event, including reclaiming the phrase “Move Along” into a message of dignity, awareness, and hope — did not go unnoticed, and we are deeply grateful to the LVC community for making it happen.

Leaving sketchbooks and paper out in our common spaces allow our youth an outlet to create, reflect, and express themselves — and the talent they share never stops amazing us. 🎨💙

One of our exceptionally artistic youth shared: “At three years old, I picked up a crayon and never put it down. The paper, I swear that it felt like a 3d environment that came to life, and I just had to trace my vision on it. I've been an artist ever since.”

Thank you to our community of supporters for making spaces like this possible, where youth feel safe and comfortable to let their creativity flow. And to find the healing and stability they need to pursue their dreams, grow in confidence, and work toward their best selves.
