Stucco buyer beware, not law yet but a very small step in the right direction. Only two kinds of stucco houses built after 1980, those that have water/moisture problems and those that will. Stucco on stick framing does not hold up well at all. The bipartisan bill marks one of the most significant regulatory steps that has been taken since water intrusion in new construction has swelled to what some observers have called “epidemic” proportions. The bill’s sponsor said it was prompted by an Inquirer investigation.

Home comfort tip. If your house has forced hot air furnace and programmable thermostat you can turn fan portioned thermostats to ON instead of auto selection that every house thermostat is set to and use your duct work/air handler as a whole house fan when weather does not warrant using central air or heat as the blower motor will move air through the house. You can do with windows open or closed. The auto selection kicks the fan on automatically when heat or ac is running and the ON selection will continuously move air through the house.
