Y’all… I need everybody’s help. 😩🍿

My daughter is in Zeta Phi Beta, and apparently my Double Good popcorn era isn’t over yet. I already bought it for my niece. I bought it for my nephew. I bought it for my cousin. I have MORE popcorn in this house than a movie theater. I told myself I was done.

Then she hits me with the text. 🙄 And now she needs MY followers to come through — the same followers she didn’t even want me posting for on social media. Suddenly y’all are useful, huh?

But listen — it’s for a good cause. Her chapter’s trying to hit $5,000 and the clock is ticking (we’ve got less than 4 days). So do it for her, do it for Zeta Phi Beta, do it so I stop getting popcorn texts.

The family was setting the scene for a celebration of life at Green Event Space

This family transformed our space into a beautiful Eagles-themed tribute for their father’s repass — down to every last detail. It was an honor to host such a meaningful gathering, and to see how much love went into creating a space that truly reflected who he was.

Thank you to this family for trusting us with such an important moment. 💚

Just walked through one of my units on 43rd & Lancaster in West Philly — everything’s updated, from the kitchen with granite counters and stainless steel appliances to the bathroom and flooring. Central air too. It’s in great shape and ready to go.

2 bed, 1 bath, $1,450/month. A few minutes from Center City and close to public transit.

A few things to know before you apply: utilities aren’t included, application fee is $50 per adult, and you’ll need first month, last month, and a security deposit ready at move-in. I do 1 or 2-year leases, pets considered case by case.

Pastor Guess was more than my pastor — he was my brother.

We baptized my daughters together. Naomi. Faith. Moments I’ll hold onto forever, and moments I got to share with him.

But it went so far beyond that. The phone calls. The text messages. The audio messages back and forth. Him coming through my crib to check on me. Me going to see him this summer after his bike accident, sitting in his living room, laughing like we always did. The long conversations that didn’t need an occasion — he just checked in, and I checked in on him. Years of that. That’s a brotherhood.

I got the news while I was driving, on vacation. I had to pull over just to make sure I was reading it right.

This is a shock. He will be deeply missed — by me, by our church, by everyone who got to know him the way I did.

Pastor Guess, I love you. Rest well.

Please continue to keep his family and friends in prayer.

When your shirt says “Dope Black Dad” but your daughters refuse to reenact it 😂

Asked my girls to pose like the dad and daughters on my shirt. Arms folded, serious face — the whole thing. They said it was corny. So we pivoted — the girls pointing at themselves on the shirt instead.

Our flight got canceled the morning of, so we had to change plans fast — but we’re still making memories together.

Getting another one ready. 💪🏾

Stopped by one of my South Philadelphia rentals today to check on the progress. The guys are inside getting it painted and ready for its next tenant.

One thing I noticed walking up… I really like what my first-floor tenant has done with the greenery out front. It’s amazing how a few plants and flowers can really brighten up a property.

This 2-bedroom, 1-bath apartment will be available for rent next week after the holiday. I’ll post the listing next week, and I’ll also share it in my story.

My kids ain’t right. Why they had to do me like this?? Just saw Minions at 12:30 PM and I couldn’t even stay up for the entire movie. Not because the movie was bad, the parts I saw were actually entertaining but I just don’t have it in me to watch a two hour movie without falling asleep. 🤷🏾‍♂️😂😂
