If you’re a local like myself, you’ve probably passed by this site multiple times on Mesa Dr & University 💯
Whelp, we may FINALLY be getting something here! A proposal to bring 1,000 residential units and up to 50,000 square feet of retail to city-owned land in downtown Mesa will likely get the council’s green light.
The 25-acre site on the southwest corner of Mesa and University drives has sat dormant for decades after numerous failed attempts to develop it.
And now has been potentially tapped to revitalize the parcel!
Unlike Culdesac Tempe, which has over 700 apartments and retail on site but no residential parking, the project in Mesa proposes 800 to possibly 1,000 parking spots.
Culdesac Mesa is proposed to be built in three phases with the first phase composed entirely of residential, including live-work units and a minimum of 140 for-sale townhomes with two and three bedrooms, anticipated to sell in the $300,000s, depending on market conditions.
