What's the number 1 thing that can derail a custom home build?

Starting before the vision is fully baked.

Unfinished architectural details, undecided interior finishes, incomplete landscape plans — these may seem small early on, but during construction they can create delays, budget overruns, and unnecessary stress.

To be clear, no custom home is ever perfectly finalized before breaking ground. But the smoother projects always have one thing in common: the unknowns and variables are limited and controlled.

Too many unresolved details? That’s when projects become cautionary tales.

That about sums up the feelings here in Phoenix now that the nightly lows are creeping up in to the mid-80's. Next stop: lows in the 90's! Get excited.
