His mother, a blue collar worker, raised Dan alone. At an early age he learned the importance of personal responsibility. At the ripe old age of 16, after volunteering in the successful effort to create Phoenix' District System, Dan was hand-picked by the new Mayor to serve on the Phoenix Parks Board. Dan proudly served Governors of both parties as a member of the Arizona Juvenile Justice and Deli

nquency Prevention Advisory Council. Dan has a long history of demonstrating his love of Phoenix through service to our neighbors including participation in the Citizens Police Academy. He served on the Encanto and Paradise Valley Village Planning Committees, Phoenix' 2006 Citizens Bond Committee, chairs the ReInvent PHX Midtown Steering Committee is President Emeritus of the Midtown Neighborhood Association and is a graduate of the Sky Harbor Aviation Academy. Each year I take a moment to reflect and give thanks on this day. Today I am many decades a Carroll and oh so very thankful to Mom and Dad for choosing to take a 3 week old infant into their hearts and home. So, thanks Mom and Dan Sr. (RIP) for adopting me. Love, Dan
