🌊Water is Life🌊

💡 Did you know? Hidden beneath the serene waters of the Colorado River lies a secret that few may realize - it has been carving its way through the majestic canyons for millions of years, slowly creating one of nature's most awe-inspiring masterpieces. 🌄✨

As I stand here on the banks of the Colorado River, I can't help but be in awe by the captivating dance between the vibrant colors and the gentle flow of the water. It's a mesmerizing sight that beckons your soul to surrender to the untamed beauty of nature. 💫💧

People from all over the world have recognized the Colorado River's path through the Utah-Arizona border showcases some of the most diverse landscapes on Earth. From towering sandstone cliffs to ancient rock formations, this area is a living canvas that has taken millions of years to to be on display for this tiny moment of time we are lucky to have on this earth.. 🎨🖌️

Beneath the surface of the Colorado River, a hidden world thrives. The river supports a rich ecosystem, providing a home for countless species of fish, birds, and plants. It's a delicate balance of life that reminds us of the interconnectedness of all living things. Water is life.

This year I have kayaked down the Colorado past the Hoover Dam, boated through Lake Powell, and hiked through the washes that have become canyons. Every visit to this place is an invitation to connect with our deepest selves and embrace the power and resilience of nature. The river's rhythmic current echoes a reminder that life is constantly flowing, evolving, adapting….

🎉 Congratulations to Marie, who just closed on her new home in Camp Verde!

Back in January, Marie and her husband fell in love with the community after he landed a new job in the area. As anyone would, I imagine he grew tired of the long commute from Prescott Valley, so we began our search in Camp Verde.

Marie was patient and persistent, waiting for the right deal to come along. Many buyers get stressed during the home search but we had so much fun every time we went out to tour homes. Heck, I even got to meet a horse! In just a couple short months, we found a gorgeous home that she simply had to have, but for a deal of course. After some negotiating back and forth, we were able to negotiate and secure an accepted offer $45,000 under the list price!

The process was a breeze, with our inspection period and repairs completed quickly and efficiently along with a home warranty paid for by the seller. In fact, Marie now holds the record with me this year for my fastest close at just 10 days! She's a true motivator and pushed me to be the best agent I could be for her.

Marie and her husband have already begun settling into their beautiful new home, and those long commutes have turned into just a quick bike ride.

I want to send a huge thank you to Jamie, the listing agent, for his outstanding work in completing the requested repairs and working hard for his seller to close this transaction quickly. I want to send a thank you to Valeri with Yavapai Title for being on the ball 24/7!

Congratulations, Marie! You are truly awesome, and I cannot wait for us to attend a special Sunday dinner with Eddie 🏡❤️

📆Big Things Up Ahead📆

I have always been one to love being busy. This week has been right up there with the busiest weeks I’ve ever had. At the beginning of the week, being able to keep everything organized seemed almost impossible, but here we are, Friday evening, and nothing slipped through the cracks.

Just this week, I have worked through 3 inspections with my clients and listed 2 new properties! Spring has sprung and it seems like homebuyers just appeared out of thin air! Where were you all winter 😅

So, what’s up ahead? Capitol Butte of course! 😉

🏜️Sedona is Soaked💦

Who needs a plan when you can have an epic adventure? Yesterday, we were expecting a nice and dry hike. Boy were we wrong! Thanks to the second snowiest winter ever recorded in parts of Arizona, the rising temperatures and occasional rain has caused the snow to melt FAST. What started as a dribbling stream turned into a raging creek and we couldn't resist crossing it multiple times to explore deeper into the canyon. 🏞️

Eventually, we stumbled upon a box canyon with a massive waterfall. The water pooling at the bottom must have been at least 5-7ft deep, it was hard to tell in since we were in the shade. Finding this waterfall was like discovering a hidden treasure and we couldn't contain ourselves! 🤩

We thought we were turning the day's lemons into lemonade, but we went above and beyond and made the day into a refreshing Lemon Icy instead! 🍋💦 Sometimes, the best days happen when you least expect them. Stumbling upon a hidden gem during an adventure is the best surprise! Who else loves turning unexpected surprises into unforgettable experiences?

Back in 2016 I visited Arizona for the first time with Ashley. She brought me with her to her brothers high school graduation. As part of my introduction to where she grew up she said she wanted to take me to one of her favorite spots in Sedona. This was the first hike I ever did in Sedona, and it’s what made me fall in love with the area. (I think she also made sure to take me on a showstopper hike so that I’d be sure to move to AZ).

I’ve seen so many more views and beautiful spots since that first hike in May of 2016. But I wanted to throw it back to where it all started, my love of Sedona, right at this spot.

Also- this was back when I used to wear neon all the time and had short hair so it definitely shows I’ve come a long way! 😂

🎈Happy BDay🎈

Spent the weekend celebrating the most hardcore hiking lady’s birthday! With all the rain and flooding, I was worried we wouldn’t be fortunate to have good weather to celebrate but it’s like the sun knew it’s favorite sun lizard needed some rays for her birthday.

Most people would want a fancy dinner and maybe drinks by a pool, but not this Wildling. For Ashley’s birthday, all she wanted was to hike to the top of a mountain and take a nap on a flat rock with a drop off on both sides 😳. Because nothing is more relaxing than knowing if you roll left or right will result in a barrel roll down a mountain 😅. She wanted to hike a loop she made up in her head and thought, “we can do that!” She wanted to hike into caves filled with scorpions, because what are those guardians of hell hiding in this super awesome cave.

Happy belated to the most adventurous person, best researcher, caring, beautiful, and driven person I’ve ever met.

🏵️Not So Dry Desert🏵️

Ya know, it used to be rare to have a rainy day in Phoenix, AZ, but as of late it seems the clouds and raindrops won’t stop falling.

The past week, AZ has seen some serious rainfall and flash floods have been flowing throughout the state. Of course flash floods are not a new things, but with the MUCH needed snowfall and rain this winter, water levels in rivers, creeks, and streams have been rising fast.

A little safety tip for anyone heading out to do some hiking in the Southwest:

We haven’t seen, for decades, this much rain and snow due the mega drought we have been in. Being cautious of flash floods and being aware of where you are in a canyon is a great place to start. Another less well known danger is the loosening of the soil. Rockfall and landslides are a serious danger in when the soil has become as wet as they are right now.

Stay safe out there and have a great, somewhat dry, week 😄

🚯A Stark Reminder🚯

Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to visit Grand Falls, also known as Adahiilíní, on the Navajo Nation in Arizona. This natural wonder is not only a breathtaking sight to behold, but it also holds immense cultural and spiritual significance for the Navajo Nation. It's disheartening to see that due to the actions of irresponsible visitors who have left trash and caused damage to the site, access to the falls has been closed indefinitely.

The Navajo Tourism Department's website, Discover Navajo, advertises Grand Falls as a place to visit, and it's easy to see why. While the Navajo Tourism Department has advertised Grand Falls and welcomed visitors, they never imagined their generosity and willingness to share this beautiful place would result in visitors leaving garbage, chasing livestock with ATVs, and even 'skinny dipping' at the sacred site. The location has long been pseudo-protected by the natural environment surrounding the falls which include dirt roads, rocks, and a somewhat distant drive from large towns such as Flagstaff. It's a stark reminder that other locations that aren't already so widely shared are not worth an Instagram post that could potentially destroy an entire natural area.

When I visited Grand Falls, the water was absolutely raging, and the power of the falls was thundering. I hiked down to the bottom, and stood in front of the falls as the water crashed down, creating a reddish brown mist that left a layer of dirt and mud all over me. The loud crashing of the water left me unable to hear everything around me and had me completely engulfed in how amazing these falls are. It was a moment I will never forget.

Let's remember to be responsible travelers and to protect the natural and cultural treasures that we are fortunate enough to visit. Let's hope that one day, Grand Falls will be able to reopen to visitors, but until then, let's support the Navajo Nation's decision and work to promote responsible tourism and preservation of our natural and cultural heritage.

🔒Gatekeeping Saves Our Parks🔒

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful national park that was a haven for wildlife and a popular destination for visitors from all over the world. The park was home to stunning landscapes, from majestic mountains to serene lakes, and countless hiking trails that allowed visitors to explore the wonders of nature.

One day, an ‘influencer’ arrived at the park, eager to capture the perfect shot that would impress their followers and boost their social media presence. They climbed off the designated trail to find a unique vantage point, trampling on delicate plants and disturbing the habitats of local wildlife. The influencer took their photo and posted it online, garnering thousands of likes and comments.

Soon, others followed suit, eager to replicate the influencer's success. They too ventured off the trail, carving their own paths through the park and causing irreparable damage to the environment. The once-pristine park became overrun with people seeking the perfect shot, and the wildlife that called it home began to suffer.

Despite warnings from park rangers and environmental groups, the trend continued. The damage to the park was so severe that it began to affect the delicate balance of the ecosystem, putting the survival of many species at risk.

But there was hope. A group of people came together to raise awareness about the damage being caused by irresponsible visitation. They shared stories and images of the park before and after the trend began, highlighting the importance of respecting the environment and following Leave No Trace.

Their message began to spread, and slowly but surely, visitors to the park began to take responsibility for their impact on the nature. They followed designated trails, packed out what they packed in, and respected the wildlife and other visitors. The park began to heal.

While this is just a story, the lesson learned was clear: it's our responsibility to be educated on how to conduct ourselves while we're there and if you know someone doesn’t understand how to respect nature, gatekeep it.
