the average move uses 60 cardboard boxes and most end up in a landfill. here’s how to do it differently 🌱
1. use what you already own first. suitcases and laundry baskets are perfectly good moving containers
2. skip the bubble wrap. dish towels wrap plates and socks protect mugs just as well
3. rent reusable plastic moving bins. one set replaces 30+ cardboard boxes and gets reused for the next person
4. declutter before you pack, not after. if you wouldn’t buy it for your next place, don’t move it
5. know where to donate before move day. goodwill, salvation army, and habitat restore all have different rules so call ahead
6. combine your donation drop and junk haul into one trip. less fuel, less time, one booking
7. book the right vehicle size. too big wastes fuel, too small means a second trip
