A simple donation can make a life-changing difference! 👕✨

Thanks to the generosity of Player 15 Group's NOIR Network, UMOM families will have access to new and gently used clothing that provides comfort, dignity, and opportunity. These items help children feel prepared for school, support parents pursuing employment, and ease the financial burden on families working hard to rebuild their lives.

We're grateful to the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury NOIR Network (Player 15 Black Team Member Network) for turning compassion into action and helping families build a brighter future.

Behind every employment success story is a dedicated team helping make it happen. 👏

This Workforce Development Month, we're shining a spotlight on UMOM's Workforce Development program, which empowers adults experiencing homelessness with the tools, training, and support they need to secure employment, build careers, and achieve long-term stability. From resume assistance and interview preparation to job placement and ongoing coaching, our team helps parents create brighter futures for themselves and their children.

UMOM's Workforce Development team does so much more than help people find jobs. They build relationships, identify each individual's strengths, help navigate barriers to employment, and provide encouragement every step of the way. Whether it's preparing for a first interview, exploring career pathways, securing professional clothing, or celebrating a new job offer, they meet families where they are and help them move forward with confidence.

Their compassion, expertise, and unwavering belief in the potential of every person they serve help families move beyond crisis and toward lasting self-sufficiency. This month, we celebrate the incredible team members who are creating opportunities, restoring hope, and helping families build a brighter future. đź’™

What does it take to build momentum for a multi-million-dollar capital campaign while stepping into a new role as CEO?

On September 8, UMOM CEO Monique Lopez will speak at "Activate: The Fundraising Readiness Summit" about her experience leading capital campaigns—and how she has helped make UMOM’s current campaign a success through strong relationships, clear vision and community support.

This summit is a free virtual event offering nonprofit professionals practical fundraising insights they can put to work right away. We’re proud to have Monique share UMOM’s story with fundraisers across the sector, and we hope you’ll join us! https://events.ringcentral.com/events/activate-summit/registration

This summer, the need has been greater than anyone anticipated.

Through UMOM’s Summer Family Heat Relief program, created in partnership with the City of Phoenix, AZ USA, as of Aug. 25 we’ve already served 222 households, including 449 children, with safe, 24/7 emergency shelter, meals, hygiene essentials, and supportive services during Arizona’s extreme heat. Demand continues to grow, and we now expect to serve more than 300 families and 1,000 individuals before the program concludes.

We're grateful to the City of Phoenix and our community partners for helping us respond to this urgent need, but the work is far from over. Every family deserves a safe place to sleep, especially when overnight temperatures remain dangerously high.

Unlike traditional daytime cooling centers, UMOM offers 24-hour emergency shelter, meals, hygiene items and a support staff seven days a week.

Our Chief Development Officer, Ashley Oakley, recently shared our mission and participated in a leadership panel at the J.W. Marriott’s Women of Food & Beverage event.

The event’s focus was especially meaningful to UMOM because of our Homegrown Culinary Training program, which empowers women and other participants with hands-on culinary training, industry experience and a pathway toward lasting employment and financial stability.

Thank you to Women of F&B and the J.W. Marriott team for including UMOM!

When businesses invest in their communities, lives are changed.

A special shout-out to Sundt Construction, Inc. for their recent visit to UMOM and their incredible support of our mission. During their tour of campus, team members learned more about the programs that help families overcome homelessness and create lasting stability.

Their impact didn't stop there. Sundt Construction presented UMOM with a $20,000 donation, volunteered in our Threads of Hope Clothing Closet, and provided generous donations of clothing and costumes that will directly benefit the families and children we serve!

We're grateful for your generosity and commitment to community. Thank you, Sundt!

A building is just a building. What happens inside changes lives. 🏠✨

This National Nonprofit Day, we're reflecting on the families who have found shelter, support, opportunity, and hope through UMOM. None of it happens alone.

Thank you to every donor, volunteer, advocate, partner, and supporter who helps make our mission possible. Together, we're creating pathways out of homelessness and into stability for thousands of individuals and families each year.
