Enid Hyde (107 years young) was married to Franklin Robinson Hyde, the 3nd child of Charles Leavitt Hyde who was the builder of the St Charles Hotel and many other prominent buildings on upper Pierre Street in Pierre. Charles Hyde was an early promoter of Pierre in the early 1900's and true believer that expected Pierre to be the biggest city between Minneapolis and Denver.

Helen Enid Howard Hyde died peacefully early Easter morning, April 12, 2020, at her home in Pierre. Enid was the sixth of eight children born to Leon and Zeila Spencer Howard, pioneers who came to the Dakota Territory in 1884. Her mother chose the name Enid for her from the

Last night a group of people climbed the old disabled fire escape on the side of the St Charles building and had a drunken party on the roof. They threw several 100 pound construction anchors off the roof destroying our picnic table. They could have easily hit a person or a car parked below. Did some damage to the roof and they also stole your new flag that we replaced 2 days ago. WE WANT OUR FLAG BACK. If you know anything about this please let us know.
