💔 Today, East Tennessee lost more than a legend… we lost one of our own. 💔

Dolly Parton was so much more than a country music icon. She was a daughter of the Smokies, a storyteller, a dreamer, a businesswoman, a philanthropist, and a woman who never forgot where she came from.

She showed the world that you can rise from humble beginnings and still keep your heart humble. She gave us songs that will live forever, memories that generations will share, and perhaps most importantly, she taught us that kindness, generosity, and a little bit of faith can change the world.

From the mountains of Sevier County to stages around the world, Dolly carried a piece of East Tennessee with her everywhere she went. And she gave so much of herself back to the place she called home.

Today, we remember the big hair, the rhinestones, the incredible voice and the unmistakable laugh… but most of all, we remember the big heart behind it all. ❤️

Thank you, Dolly, for making the world a little brighter, a little kinder, and a whole lot more joyful.

You may have left this world, but your music, your words, your generosity, and your spirit will live on forever.
