Florida votes on major highway speed limit increase. The Florida House recently approved a proposal that would allow speed limits of up to 80 mph on certain highways, along with increases on some rural roads. Supporters say it better reflects how people already drive, while critics argue it could lead to more severe accidents.

For now, the proposal is stalled after the Florida Senate rejected the House's changes, leaving the future of the bill uncertain.

The Smoky Mountains and Gulf Shores are two of the most popular vacation rental markets in the country, but they offer very different investing opportunities.

The Smokies are known for year round tourism, mountain views, cabin stays, and attractions like Dollywood, hiking, shopping, and dinner shows. Investors often love the variety of properties available, from affordable starter cabins to luxury rentals packed with amenities.

Gulf Shores is all about the beach lifestyle. Think white sand beaches, boating, fishing, golf, and family vacations. Many investors are drawn to the area's repeat visitors and the ability to own a vacation home they want to use a lot themselves.

One market gives you mountains. One gives you beaches.

One isn't necessarily better than the other. The best choice comes down to your budget, cash flow goals, personal preferences, and long term investment strategy.
