When we purchased the house, it was being used as 5 Airbnbs and this was one of the rentals… Would you have stayed here before?

My last posted resulted in one question being asked a lot… Where is the kitchen now? That’s a great question and the answer is… Right here! Where it was always meant to be. This is the original location of the kitchen and where we kept it. The other kitchen from the last post was added to accommodate the five Airbnbs they were operating out of the house but it was never meant to be a kitchen. This space needed a full overhaul to bring back some of its historic style and also modernize it functionally for today.

Sometimes gutting it is the right decision. Especially if it means restoring a space back to what it was meant to be.

I don’t like to use the word “Flip” because that feels cheap and unthoughtful… I prefer “Curated” instead because that’s exactly what I strive to achieve between the balance of old and new.

So many people don’t use their dining rooms anymore but it was so important to me for this space to be used as it was always intended, while also giving it more functionality and style.

A new kitchen doesn’t always mean it’s better, especially if it feels basic and boring. This space deserved to be redefined, filled with character and charm to truly bring it to life!

With all the renovations and staging I’m doing, I feel like I practically live at my storage unit! Between price hikes and poor security at my current facility I knew I needed to make a switch.
