Jerry and Valerie were both raised in the building industry and come from a long line of home builders. Jerry’s father built homes in Tampa Bay for more than thirty years. Valerie’s father, Mick McKenzie, is one of the original founders of American Housing Builders, Inc., and both of her grandfathers built homes in Pinellas County. Between them, Jerry and Valerie have over 60 years’ experience. Jerry was a registered contractor in Pinellas County for many years and in 2021, Valerie became licensed as a Florida State Certified Building Contractor. As a member of the National Association of Home Builders, the Tampa Bay Home Builders Association, local Chambers of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau, American Housing Builders stays up to date on current building and safety code, as well as trends in the homebuilding industry.
