We are tracking a potentially impactful winter storm that may affect Arizona late Sunday through Tuesday. This is a cold system that could bring significant snowfall down to elevations around 4,000 feet. Much uncertainty remains regarding specific snowfall amounts. However, we are confident that winds will increase Sunday and persist into Monday, before temperatures plummet. Expect well-below average temperatures next week. Along and north of the Mogollon Rim, daytime highs may not rise above freezing. Nighttime temperatures will pose a high risk to those without adequate clothing or shelter.
