The Friends of the CSS Neuse Civil War Museum are pleased to announce that the Rose Greenhow Dinner Theater event will take place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on August 1.

Historical interpreter Emily Lapisardi will give a solo performance as Rose O'Neal Greenhow, a celebrated Confederate spy who, after her release from prison in Washington, D.C., served as an unofficial ambassadress for the Confederate government in England and France.

The portrayal brings to life Greenhow's remarkable diplomatic mission abroad, including her audiences with European society, efforts to win recognition and support for the Confederacy, and publication of her memoir in London.

This program continues our museum's mission of bringing the Civil War era to life through accurate, engaging storytelling that honors the history of the CSS Neuse and the broader period experience.
