DID YOU KNOW?
Pittsburg’s history is deeply connected to the immigrants who came to Southeast Kansas to work in the coal mines.
Families from Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, and other countries of the Balkan Peninsula brought their traditions, food, music, and culture with them, helping shape the community we know today.
Every Labor Day weekend, Little Balkans Days celebrates that heritage and the people whose stories became part of ours.
We love being part of a community with a history worth remembering.
Happy Little Balkans Weekend, Pittsburg! ❤️
