May 20th is Day, a global day of awareness for the vascular type of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (vEDS): a rare, life-limiting genetic disorder.
On this day we light up buildings and structures in red and wear the same color in hopes of bringing more awareness to this often fatal disorder.

Vascular EDS is a life-threatening disorder that affects all tissues, arteries, and internal organs making them extremely fragile. Awareness and early diagnosis of vEDS is vital. The knowledge of vEDS is essential for monitoring of health, to inform medical care plans, and for family members of those also affected to be tested and informed.
