It was a beautiful day to get out of the office and see firsthand the progress being made on economic-development projects throughout Westmoreland County.

The $7 million modernization of Buildings 37 and 38 at New Kensington Advanced Manufacturing Park is coming along nicely. These improvements are helping transform a historic industrial complex into a modern advanced manufacturing hub that will support job creation, private investment, and the continued revitalization of the New Kensington-Arnold area.

It's exciting to see these projects take shape and see partnerships (in this case, with Industrial Development Corporation - RIDC ), planning, and investment that are positioning Westmoreland County for long-term economic growth.

Once built, this new development in Pittsburgh will feature 46 units of affordable housing and serve as a catalyst for Hazelwood Green, the growing campus at the site of the former Jones & Laughlin steel mill. Low-Income Housing Tax Credits provided by PHFA will be used to build these new apartments.
