What should I expect during the first time home buying process?
Here are generally steps that first-time homebuyers need to know:
▪️Get a mortgage preapproval – select a lender that you feel comfortable with.
▪️Ask questions about the products and rates.
▪️Find a real estate agent – select an agent whose personality fits your and is knowledgeable of the process. Most importantly, one that has your best interest at heart and not just looking for a payday.
▪️Get a home inspection – Your agent will assist you with this process.
▪️Gather your paperwork for the lender (such as bank statements, pay stubs etc)
▪️Keep a file with all of the documents incase you need to resend a document
▪️Select a title company – this is to make sure the property is free and clear of any mortgages, liens, judgments ect. Basically, you have received marketable title.
▪️Final approved from lender prepare for closing – bring a form of your current government ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.)
