In 1929, construction for both The Arlington Apartments and the Coronado Apartments (across the street) were going on simultaneously - turning into a friendly competition to see who would complete their building first. The Coronado ultimately began leasing units for October 1st, and the Arlington began leasing units for December 1st of the same year.
