Wrapping up summer the McKamish way! ☀️

Our team gathered at the office for an end-of-summer celebration filled with great food, good company, and a little friendly competition. Employees enjoyed lunch from a local food truck and battled it out in a co****le tournament. Congratulations to Alex and Anthony from our Safety Department on taking home the co****le championship! 🏆

Some projects require more than simply installing new equipment — they require finding a way to get it there.

After flood damage impacted the East Wing at Allegheny General Hospital, McKamish replaced two critical air handling units. With 64 sections per unit, our team developed a detailed plan to disassemble, transport, maneuver, and reassemble the equipment inside the hospital while coordinating existing utilities and maintaining facility operations.

A challenging project made possible through planning, precision, and teamwork.

Another successful boiler installation at Steamfitters Local 449!

For this project, McKamish’s Engineering team collaborated closely with Tower Engineering, Inc., steamfitters449 , our planners, and equipment vendors to coordinate the lift and installation of the new boiler.

One unique aspect of the project was using air skates to transport the boiler through the lab – a process that made the massive piece of equipment look surprisingly light as it moved into position!

We’re proud to put our expertise to work on projects that directly support Steamfitters Local 449 and the next generation of skilled tradespeople. It’s especially rewarding to help create and maintain the facilities where future apprentices learn their craft.

During a recent maintenance outage at Cordia Energy, our team fabricated and installed a new boiler exhaust system to improve performance and support reliable operation. By completing the work on schedule, the boilers were re-energized as planned, helping the facility return to normal operations without delay.

Another project completed safely, efficiently, and with the quality our team is known for. 💪
