It’s been a busy week for Children’s! ❤️

From celebrating the ribbon cutting of the new Children’s Heart Institute to participating in the Walk for Children’s at Schenley Park, our team was proud to be part of two meaningful events supporting children and families throughout our community.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the opening of the new Children’s Heart Institute, where McKamish provided the HVAC and plumbing systems that help create a comfortable, reliable environment for patients, families, and caregivers. It’s rewarding to see another healthcare project come to life and begin serving the community.

We were also honored to join the Walk for Children’s, helping support the incredible work being done every day at Children’s Hospital.

We’re grateful for opportunities to build spaces that make a difference and to support organizations that have such a positive impact on the lives of local families.

Big moves at Allegheny Health Network’s Forbes Hospital!

Yesterday’s crane lift placed three new cooling tower units as part of the Central Utility Plant (CUP) upgrades. McKamish is proud to serve as the design-assist partner helping bring this critical infrastructure project to life.

Innovation starts with the spaces built to support it. McKamish was proud to serve as the HVAC design-assist contractor for Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Innovation Center - a state-of-the-art facility designed for advanced robotics research, fabrication, and testing. From highly specialized mechanical systems to a one-of-a-kind aquatic robotics testing pool, this project was built to support the future of technology.

Yesterday during pre-shift, we held a company-wide Safety Stand Down across all McKamish job sites, bringing teams together to pause work and refocus on what matters most – safety.

Across the field, crews engaged in open conversations around best practices, lessons learned, and ways to continue strengthening our safety culture. The photos below highlight discussions at CMU RK Mellon, Allegheny General Hospital, and UPMC Presbyterian, where teams came together to share insights and reinforce our shared commitment.
