Today we honor one of the most significant leaders of the Civil Rights movement, challenging the world around him and propelling change in our country. He worked tirelessly to provide equal rights to ALL citizens regardless of race, color, gender, religion or national origin.

Did you know that his efforts even included the real estate industry? Martin Luther King, Jr’s efforts led to the Fair Housing Act of 1968, prohibiting discrimination concerning the sale, rental and financing of real estate property. Since then, many have set a precedent that housing discrimination will not be tolerated. However, there is still much more that needs to be done.

Pittsburgh Realtist Professionals (PRP) exists as a local chapter of NAREB, fighting to bridge the gaps in work and wealth amongst our communities. We stand to educate and inspire our neighbors, develop a strong sense of belonging in this industry of real estate professionals.

Martin Luther King Jr.'s goal was to see all people live in harmony with the same rights and freedoms as everyone else. We must all work together to make this dream, the dream of homeownership, attainable to all those who want it.
