I’ve lived in Pittsburgh my entire life and somehow had never visited Fall Run Park in Shaler Township. 🌿

If you’re looking for a fun family activity near Pittsburgh, add this hidden gem to your list! The shaded nature trail follows a stream and ends at a waterfall. Bring your water shoes because we were hardly on the tail—we spent most of our time wading through the ankle-deep water, turning over rocks, and searching for tiny fish and salamanders.

The park also has a small playground, picnic tables, and plenty of shade, making it a great spot to hang out on a hot summer afternoon.

From Denver ➡️ Pittsburgh

Are you moving to Pittsburgh? Starting a home search from out of state can feel overwhelming!

My newly-engaged, first-time homebuyers were relocating from Denver to Pittsburgh to be closer to family. We first started off with a virtual consultation so I could understand what they were looking for in a home, the Pittsburgh neighborhoods they were interested in, and how they actually live day to day (because that matters just as much as the number of bedrooms + bathrooms).

When they flew in for the weekend, we spent 8 hours touring homes across the Pittsburgh area, narrowing down their favorites, and going all in when we found the one.

The house received multiple offers… but we still got it 💪

Once they headed back to Denver, I handled everything locally—attended the home inspection, met with HVAC companies to get quotes for a new furnace + AC, and overall made sure there were no surprises before the closing.

Then they flew back to Pittsburgh to close on their new home 🥂
