If you’re buying today, here’s what the market’s actually showing (May–July 2026 data):

Dormont is moving fast with 22 days on market on average, and sellers are seeing it in price.
Brookline is at slower pace at 50 days, with more inventory to choose from and a lower entry point.

The $45k gap for a 3-bed between the two neighborhoods is real.

Walk Scores are in there too (via walkscore.com) if walkability matters to your daily routine.

Neither neighborhood is “better.”

These median home sale prices from January to July 2026 across 7 South Hills neighborhoods and the spread might surprise you.

Brookline sits at $220,500. Just a few miles away, Upper St. Clair is more than double that at $470,000.

Where you buy in the South Hills changes your budget more than most people realize and that’s before you even factor in home size, condition, or lot.
