❄️ Cold Weather Propane Tip – This One Matters ❄️
When temps drop into the sub-zero danger zone, your propane system plays by different rules—and low tanks lose.
🔥 Why keeping your propane tank ABOVE ½ full matters in extreme cold:
• Propane doesn’t “burn” as a liquid—it has to boil into a v***r first
• The colder it gets, the harder propane boils
• The less liquid propane in the tank, the less surface area available to v***rize
• Result?
👉 Weak furnace flame
👉 Appliances shutting down
👉 Regulator icing
👉 Or worse… no heat when you need it most
🥶 A tank at ¼ full might be fine in October.
🥶 In January? It’s basically asking for trouble.
✅ Rig Ready Rule of Thumb:
If you’re camping, storing, or living in your RV during freezing or sub-zero temps—refill at ½ tank, not empty.
💡 Bonus tip: Dual-tank setups aren’t immune. If one tank runs low, cold weather can still overwhelm the system before the regulator switches.
Bottom line:
Cold doesn’t forgive shortcuts. Keep your propane topped off and your rig warm.
