Yesterday I shared a side-by-side photo showing how much wear this rubbing post takes from deer activity over just a couple of seasons.

Several people had reached out and asked if deer really use these posts that much. This specific buck would use this post every time he was in the food plot!

Two years ago, I replaced this rubbing post on my personal farm.

The lighter post on the right was brand new when I installed it in 2020. The darker post on the left is the one it replaced in 2024.

After just two seasons, the new post is already worn down and scarred from constant use—and it'll probably need replacing again in another year or two.

For anyone wondering if deer actually use rubbing posts, this is your answer. Year after year, they keep coming back to the same location, leaving behind a pretty impressive reminder of just how much activity happens.
