What is a HUBZone? Would being certified and in a HUBZone benefit my business? A HUBZone is a designation created by the U.S. Small Business Administration to encourage economic development and job creation in historically underutilized (HUB) business areas. HUBZones are typically located in economically distressed areas, including urban and rural regions.

A HUBZone certification can give your business a competitive edge in federal contracting. Federal agencies are required to award a certain percentage of contracts for HUBZone-certified enterprises.

I grew up with steel in my veins. The Wischmeyer family has been fabricating and selling steel for generations, and I started my sales career in industrial and aerospace metals. From A36 to 316SS, 8AL titanium, AMS 4533 Beryllium Copper, and 6061T6 aluminum, I've worked with it all and understand that there are very different needs for fabricating and storing the materials.

Rochester is the place for technical manufacturing, including photonics, optics, semiconductors, and medical imaging. Our businesses are growing, as others are being started or finding their new homes right here in Rochester.

I've seen it all first hand. I've watched companies grow out of barns into industry leaders.
