McKissick Properties is pleased to share another project by oiur development group & architectural branch. This building was coincidentally constructed the same year as Fort Pittston. Similar to Fort Pittston Elementary, she was just granted listing on the Federal Register of Historic Places. She is a little smaller, being only able to accommodate 13 residences - whereas Fort Pittson Lofts will offer 15 residences when completed.

As soon as permitting is completed, we look forward to scheduling a similar event in Pittson City later this year!

Land Development Approvals are moving forward! The Pittston City Zoning Hearing Board just approved our special exception to permit conversion to residential lofts at Fort Pittston School. Last month, the City Planning Commission and City Council approved our reverse subdivision plan to combine several homes to the north on US 11 into the parcel, permitting safe and easy access to the site for residents and their vehicles.

The plan calls for the creation of 18 parking spaces and extensive landscaping, including the creation of a brick patio seating area at the "triangle park"—the area at the corner of Parsonage and North Main Street that has long been inaccessible to the community.

This area houses various time capsules, a DAR Monument from the later 1800s, and a Pa Museum and Historic Commission commemorative Plaque. It will be accessible from the public sidewalk and is planned to include a flagpole.

Once all remaining approvals are in hand we look forward to construction beginning in late 2024 and 2025 occupancy. We remain grateful to the City and the greater community for their assistance in bringing this Nationally Registered Landmark Building back to life!
