✨A little clarity on the recent Stauffer Pointe news ✨
We’ve heard from a number of homeowners, buyers, and agents after the recent article, and we completely understand why a recent headline sparked questions.
News articles state "Pittston City to acquire Stauffer Pointe land for new housing."
That's true, but they aren't aquiring it FROM Stauffer Pointe. This is not an ownership change of the development at all, it's simply a boundary change.
Stauffer Pointe has long included land in both Pittston City and Pittston Township. What is currently being proposed is simply a municipal boundary adjustment between the city and township, which includes approximately 22 acres of undeveloped land planned for future homesites.
That means a portion of the future lots would fall within Pittston City rather than Pittston Township, just like much of our phase I homes fell within Pittston City.
For current homeowners, the proposed change does not alter your address or municipality.
For future buyers, eveything about community remains the same, including future homes, the pool, clubhouse, and planned amenities...
So why is the boundary changing?
It’s part of a cooperative effort between Pittston City and Pittston Township. It means that a lot more future tax revenue would go to assisting the city, where it's needed, AND expenses like street snow plowing will move to the city as well. It also helps them to meet iniatives in proving more housing within city limits.
The development has not sold or changed. The planned homesites remain part of the community, and Stauffer Pointe continues moving forward.
We’re excited about what’s ahead and always happy to answer questions about a specific homesite, future phase, or the community as a whole!
