In another transaction, the buyer’s inspection uncovered issues with the roof and electrical system that they tried to use as leverage to significantly reduce the offer price. Instead of conceding to a price drop, I used my expertise to carefully review the inspection report, consult with trusted contractors, and present realistic repair estimates that were far lower than the buyer’s inflated numbers. I negotiated a small credit that was far less than the buyer’s original request and still allowed my client to close above their asking price.

When an offer comes in, it’s easy to let emotions take over. Maybe the offer isn’t what you were hoping for, or maybe it’s a great offer with some strings attached. The key here is to stay calm, take a step back, and look at the big picture. This is a business transaction, not a personal one, so keep your emotions in check and approach every offer with a clear mind.
